Bookfest
Today, Dad n i made our way to KL Convention Centre for the Popular Bookfest for some quality father & son time. Unfortunately we both split up after a few minutes of entering the exhibition halls but hey, at least we both had our own fun. This yr's bookfest is definitely an improvement from last year's. At least now the english books make up 1/3 of the exhibition. In the last one, half of the bookfest was chinese books and 1/4 was music CDs. As a result, the choices of english books wasn't dat wide. However, this year they had quite a nice selection. I couldn't be anymore happier. They even had a small Anthony Horrorwitz section. The only downside is dat they luv to overcharge on food and drinks but then again being a tourist trap, KLCC has always been a bit expensive. But the best new was yet to come!! Dad actually agreed to buy me the books i wanted!! w00t!! So now i've got:
1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [yes i noe i'm extremely l8 on this book. yes i noe i've become rusty after not touching a book for so long but cut me some slack...178pgs in 3hrs is still quite respectable rite? rite??]
(Harry + Ginny...awww)
2. Airman
[Another Eoin Colfer book. After reading all his Artemis Fowl books, i just gotta read this one.]
3. Alex Rider Skeleton Key
[Been wanting to read this for a super long time]
The more perceptive of you would probably notice that this list doesn't include dystopians (which, if u don't noe, is my favourite genre). On the contrary, are all under the "Young Adults" section which we all noe is just the bookshop's euphemism for "kids stuff". If you're thinkin that i'm reverting back to a childlike state when your wrong! That stage usually kicks in after a man is married (This is why ur moms always call their husbands "big babies"...at least mine does). Anyway, the sci-fi genre here was pitiful. Only one tiny shelf! Sux! At least the Starcraft novels caught my eye but other than dat it was downright dissapointing. They've got a more "How to draw manga charaters" books than the entire sci-fi selection!!
In any case, i'm still pretty happy wit these books i got..Now if you'll excuse me, Harry's interrogating Mundungus...don't wanna miss dat.

Freedom!
On Thursday night mom and my 2 bros left for Aus! This means dat from then till the 5th of June, i will be alone wit dad! N since dad has to go for work and consequently comes back late, i can hv a few extremely precious alone times every weekday to do anything i want! Wat's a boy to do with so much freedom? Unsurprisingly, when i posed this question to my good friend who will not be named, the first thing he said was "watch porn lah" [sic] (-_-")... Obviously this is out of the question when it comes to me. Besides, my Internet connection is far too slow to make that an enjoyable experience. I noe this because it takes ages just to load you-tube or crunchyroll videos...sigh..
Anyway, i was channel surfing the minute i got home on friday afternnoon while surfing the net. Den the ad for Alice Academy came up i tot to myself "WTF is dat?" So i crunchyrolled it. I noe it's supposed to a shōjo anime or wat not but dam i find it really funny. D way Mikan (over)react is so dam cute. So now i'm trying to watch the Alice Academy and Blood+ but my fucking Internet connection is making it so frustating!!! Maxis BROADBAND my ass!! My grandfather can write out the binary codes for the episode faster than this sucky thing loads!! Maxis Broadband sux balls!! It even blocks limewire! Gah!! So please, if you hv any way to remedy this situation, kindly do so before my bros gets back n i hv to wrestle them for control of the com.
Originally i tot being wit dad on the weekends would be a quiet afair since he's kinda like the quiet type. A likely scenario would've been sumtin like:
Morning
Dad: What's your plan for today?
Me: Nothing.
Dad: OK.
Both: ....
Noon
Dad: You hungry?
Me (while eating tidbits): Yes.
Dad: OK.
Both eats.
Night
Dad: You hungry?
Me (again while eating): Yes.
Dad: OK
Both eats.
Midnight
Dad: It's time for you to go to sleep.
Me: Nani? But..but..Alice Academy!!
Dad: NOW!
Me: (T_T) x 1000
Process continues for the remainder of d 2 weeks. Fortunately this didn't happen this week...At least not yet.
At least he took me to the Popular Bookfest today and 2morro to church and Kuen Cheng. Wonder wat'll he do next weekend?? Glee, glee!!

Webcomics
(Mr.Sean if your reading this, I would like to point out that i don't always play CS during your lesson. I also read webcomics, do other subject's assignment, etc. If you're looking for the gamers then you should ask Jit Hua since he's the one who usually distributes the games)
For those who are remotely interested in joining me then here a short review of what I've been reading thus far.
First up is Lackadaisy by Tracy J. Butler. I first saw this on the daily deviation on deviantART and the art style just blew me away. The strips are done in sepia-tone in order to recreate that '20s era nostalgic feel. The story line is not bad either. It's quite funny with a bit of action. It's set in the prohibition era where a café owner is operating an illegal speakeasy, the character of the characters (all anthropomorphic cats) are extremely varied (Mordecai reminds me of Qayyuum). My only problem wit this webcomic is that it's a bit too short. There are only ~53 graphically stunning pages. Took me bout a day to finish. Highly recommended.
Next we have Questionable Content by Jeph Jacques. The Daryl most of you would probably remember from SSG would never have read this kinda comic. This webcomic is filled with sexual innuendos and has tons of references to obscure bands. So why do i read it? Cos it's the most interesting webcomic with enough content to last me more than a week. Most webcomics with great art usually don't have many pages. This one has 1147 pages. Should last me awhile. I'm up to 1000 sumtin then i had to start pacing myself. Also, it makes fun of indies, goths, emos, nerds and lots more...how can anyone not enjoy laughing at emos (especially emos like Joshua)? It's art is actually not bad. It's one of the better ones as far as webcomics go. As the webcomic is 1147 pages long(and counting), summarising the plot would be impossible. Even wikipedia doesn't do that. So you'll just have to find out yourself. Overall, it's a good read. Recommended unless you wanna keep your eyes as virgin as Luther's.
I highly recommend reading Concerned to anyone who has played Half-Life 2, Especially you SP. It's by this dude called Christopher C. Livingston (I think he's got sumtin to do wit Valve). There was an easter egg in Episode 1 that made reference to this comic; so if it's good enough for Valve to notice, it should be funny enough for you. The humour here is completely opposite to Portal's dead-pan humour. It humour is mostly derived from the main character, Gordon Frohman, who is sooo dumb, he's completely ignorant of the fact that he's living in a dystopia and that ppl around him are living in constant fear. He supports and even helps in the oppression of the human race! There's a lot of in-game parodies too. It makes fun of CS, CZ, Lost Coast, and explains some discrepancies in the game like, why are there so many explosive barrels scattered throughout landscape in wat is supposed to be a depressing and dark future for mankind. A must read but only if you've played the game, otherwise you won't get most of the parodies.
There are still a dozen more webcomics i'm willing to write about but since the more time i spend blogging, the less time i have to actually read the webcmoics, i'll just put a list and make a abrupt end here.
http://www.reallifecomics.com (not recommended unless ur a nerd)
http://drmcninja.com (only recommended if you have a thing for ninjas and doctors)
http://www.shadowgirlscomic.com/ (another one old me wouldn't have read. Wat wit female comic characters and tight clothings? I like the chibi arts tho)
That's it for now.... see you all in approx 2 months time... i hope.
