About Me

Pseudo-intelligent. Happy-Go-Lucky. Occasional introvert. Semi extrovert. Loves to eat but incapable of gaining weight. Sweet-toothed. Failure of a socialite. Failure as a hikkikomori (basement-dweller). A wannabe paradox.

What's ur moe?

I'm not dead. Tnx 4 asking.

Well, 2day was d last non-exam day of college. Final exams on Mon. In 5 days time, i would be graduating from FIC. Time flies when ur under pressure eh? To commemor8 my imminent graduation, i've changed the theme of my blog to a more programmer-friendly theme. If u dun understand any of the codes or syntax, feel free to sign up for Taylors Foundation in Computing. They hold tea parties for you b4 u graduate u noe.

To think that doing one year of FIC in TCPJ = time taken 4 me to write 20 posts. Boy, i must've been extremely bz.

Unfortunately for me, Aus Unis don't rly accept my foundation course. U cannot believe the troubles i (actually my mom) went through in order to get into a Syd Uni. Fortunately, there was at least one uni willing to accept me. So i guess i'll be going to Macquarie Uni by mid-Jan next yr.

To be fair, TCPJ wasn't a complete waste of time. In the space of a year in FIC, i hv learnt a great deal. For example, i found out that i am not bad in C coding, I now know the basics of JAVA and HTML, I haz made a short movie (more on this l8r) n lvled up my photoshop skillz. Of course these are just some of the minor changes. Most importantly, i've managed to make a number of good frens. Well some of them are pretty good, others...just plain evil! However, without a doubt, the biggest change i went through in the course of 08' would have to be Jit's + Dennis's + Wei's corrupting me wit d otaku virus. Haizz...oh well, like dey say "If u can't beat them, join them". I am only too happy to oblige =J

P.S: I like megane/meganekko characters but tsunderes will do just fine. De arimasu.
~d world nids more desu. no exceptions~

T.T

The following are 4 autistic children in the Ampang Dyslexia Association Centre who I have had the privilege of teaching, playing with and being an abang to during my recent July hols. I am grateful to my mom, the association an to God for giving me a chance to do something constructive during my hols instead of slacking of like some of my classmates.

Shahrir is the probably the one who became the most attached to me. Cikgu Mariam (who's the Teacher-in-charge) tells me that everytime Shah hears my car pull up in the driveway he starts asking "Abang datang?" Shahrir's disabilities is known in the medical world as a "Global", this means that he suffers from everything. A bit of dyslexia, a bit of autism etc. That being said, he's actually quite good. In fact he'll be graduating from the Autistic class into the normal classes. Unfortunately, he's still a bit lax when it comes to sharing.

Iskandar is just soo cute, complete with baby-face, long eyelashes, mischievous yet innocent demeanour and child-like fascination with everything. He's afraid of loud noises which explains his phobia of rain, specifically rain & thunder (just like Haruhi Fujioka!). Also, when there are loud noises nearby, he closes his ears and starts spouting gibberish/random phrases like "Good Morning Teacher" and most commonly "Osa, osa, osa". You just have to hear how cute he is!! His favourite word is radio and he has a strange attachment to said device. Academically, he get's distracted really easily however, he's forte is maths. He can easily count up to 40 whilst the others falter around the 20 mark. Loli-shota anyone?

Chun Hong is well...for lack of a better word..untamed. Seeing as he's quite "new" to the class, Cikgu Mariam is still trying to get him to sit still. He regularly cries but the way he cries is hard to describe. He often cries out in LOUD bursts (Iskandar normally starts sputtering gibberish at this point) but then he'll get distracted quickly and settle down just as rapidly...it's a really weird potentially ear-drum perforating experience. Beneath his 'untamed' exterior, I believe he is normal. It's just that fate dealt him a bad hand. He has a tendency to spout completely random phrases and sing random (usually Chinese) songs. His favourite is CNY songs but also sings a medley of english songs.

Edzra (I think this is how his name is spelt). I know little about this boy since his attendance to the school is quite irregular. He has OCD and throws a tantrum when his schedule gets messed up. I think his disability is something like severe dyslexia. Accordingly, he takes a loooong time to learn something. His speech is also kinda slurred and difficult to hear. He loves puzzles.

Help!

It may be may holidays but that doesn't mean i can have a break!
You see, i've somehow been chosen as the team coordinator for this sketch i have to do for my course's July intake students. It's supposed to be a short, humourous 15-min sketch bout the daily life of a college student. Problem is, we've only got like 5 mins of material. So far we've got a blur class scence, a scence about latecomers & evil lecturers, dissinterested students and one about dismissal. If you have any ideas for new scenes or add-ons, pray tell. I need this by the end of this week.
Please, please make my life easier. Tnx.

Thus far..

Well, well..been a busy (yet fun) week so far especially the weekend. I won't bore u wit d details of college life as most of my readers r aldy in coll, instead i'll skip straight to IFF!

In case you've been wondering IFF is an acronym for International Food Fiasco. It's a big deal for us ex-SSG students cos it's the one time of the year we can congregate in our beloved high-school whilst wearing anything we please (i think i saw sum1 going 4 a lolita look last yr...it wasn't pretty >.<"). Also we get to meet with old friends and even older teachers. For the benefit of a lousy traitors who didn't come, i met up wit 1. Luther, whose hairstyle is like Aang from Avatar, also he isn't manlier or anything (NS failure wakaka)
2. Ming, who isn't as tanned as i tot she would be, she is also suffering from post-NS humour deprivation and is laughing at my jokes...kinda reminds me of Aika Hiiragi of Mx0.
3. Kim, i also expected her to be more "tanned", unfortunately she was more sensible and did not laugh at all my jokes (T.T)
4. Siew Por, lugging around his huge camera as usual.
5. Zuhdi, also changed his hairstyle with much better results.
6. Chin Meng, this guy is....unchanged and better that way.
7. John, always a pleasure to talk to.

I must saw I'm a bit disappointed wit not being able to see En. Adenan. I got to meet Mrs. Andrew, Ms. Mano and Physics God Khoo-sensei. I also met the ever fierce Ms.Lim tho (i saw right through her cheerful facade). Yes, Rita. I did say hi for you...unfortunately she replied by forcing me to buy her currypuff.

Then came Sunday. It's very nice getting together with Josh, Ming, and Wei. Together we are collectively known as Skinny Bouncy L-mo cos Daryl (Skinny) + Ming (Bouncy) + Wei (L) + Josh (emo). Thus the greatest threat to world peace was born...we leave no candy, chocolate, tic tac, washing detergent store undefiled! Mwahaha!

Paradise Lost

No, this isn't about Milton's Paradise Lost, i'm talking bout MY lost paradise. Haiz...bros came back almost 2 weeks back. Fortunately the competition for computer territory wasn't as intense as before. (tnx to IFF for keeping my bro bz). Alas IFF is over and the competition are beginning to heat up!

As usual, i am the victor cos i can throw my seniority around! However since returning from Aus, they hvn't stop talking bout it as per usual. And as usual i would ignore them however this time is different! Why? Cos they got a chance to play Halo 3 !! *jealous* When I was there all i got to play was Gears of War. It's a nice game mind you but it's just not...Halo.

Hey guess wat! I've got really really BIG news for all y'all...my dad's company just gave us a sweet new E200 Kompressor! YAY!! Well, this is big news to me..once again, Mercedes-Benz has reaffirmed its position as my favourite car manufacturer.

Paradise Regain'd (again, not Milton's but mine)

For Jm:
As far as Eoin Colfer's books go, Airman is less whimsical than his Artemis Fowl books. It's more down to Earth and features no fairies, magic nor child prodigies..no wait, Airman does have yet another well-gifted young boy. The book has many references to medieval France and England, as well as fencing, aviation history but don't worry, there not very deep. In my opinion, the book could've and should've been longer. Overall, it's still a good read. I'd consider it slightly above Artemis Fowl but maybe dat's just cos Conor Broekhart is much more human than the untouchable Artemis Fowl (the guy got physically AND psychologically tortured, all b4 his 16th b'day). In case your already reading the novel, Uncle is my favourite character.

Breaking News!

!!!! Breaking News !!!!

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

At last, i have finished the last book in J.K Rowling's series! Albeit 311 days late. At least now i don't have to close my ears or leave the room to avoid spoilers.
Anyway I've also finished reading Airman and am currently reading Skeleton Key. As you all probably know, Skeleton Key is a Alex Rider book and therefore it's makes light reading. As i am about to finish it a new dilemma has arisen...i don't have anything else to read!! From having so much to read to nothing to read...this is not good...I can already feel the withdrawal symptoms appearing. Anyone has any good books to recommend/lend? I will accept any sci-fi, orwellian, dystopian, adventure or fiction genres.
Fortunately, the Internet has managed to stave of my hunger for more reading material. Currently reading Ouran and Alice Academy but i've finished reading Mx0. I'm incredibly annoyed by it's ending...actually it's more like the lack of it. Mx0 ended prematurely so you can just imagine the frustration of finally seeing the main character beginning to get more interesting then suddenly, the manga just stops. Gah!! Whoever made this comic is evil!! Why make a manga this interesting then just stop it like that!! Evil!!!
I've also finished the Alice Academy anime, does anybody know any other comedy anime like it? If so feel free to recommend. I've got nothing better to do wit my time...wait what was that? work? Oh yea..

Bookfest

Haha! What a day.

Today, Dad n i made our way to KL Convention Centre for the Popular Bookfest for some quality father & son time. Unfortunately we both split up after a few minutes of entering the exhibition halls but hey, at least we both had our own fun. This yr's bookfest is definitely an improvement from last year's. At least now the english books make up 1/3 of the exhibition. In the last one, half of the bookfest was chinese books and 1/4 was music CDs. As a result, the choices of english books wasn't dat wide. However, this year they had quite a nice selection. I couldn't be anymore happier. They even had a small Anthony Horrorwitz section. The only downside is dat they luv to overcharge on food and drinks but then again being a tourist trap, KLCC has always been a bit expensive. But the best new was yet to come!! Dad actually agreed to buy me the books i wanted!! w00t!! So now i've got:

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows [yes i noe i'm extremely l8 on this book. yes i noe i've become rusty after not touching a book for so long but cut me some slack...178pgs in 3hrs is still quite respectable rite? rite??]
(Harry + Ginny...awww)

2. Airman
[Another Eoin Colfer book. After reading all his Artemis Fowl books, i just gotta read this one.]

3. Alex Rider Skeleton Key
[Been wanting to read this for a super long time]

The more perceptive of you would probably notice that this list doesn't include dystopians (which, if u don't noe, is my favourite genre). On the contrary, are all under the "Young Adults" section which we all noe is just the bookshop's euphemism for "kids stuff". If you're thinkin that i'm reverting back to a childlike state when your wrong! That stage usually kicks in after a man is married (This is why ur moms always call their husbands "big babies"...at least mine does). Anyway, the sci-fi genre here was pitiful. Only one tiny shelf! Sux! At least the Starcraft novels caught my eye but other than dat it was downright dissapointing. They've got a more "How to draw manga charaters" books than the entire sci-fi selection!!

In any case, i'm still pretty happy wit these books i got..Now if you'll excuse me, Harry's interrogating Mundungus...don't wanna miss dat.

Freedom!

On Thursday night mom and my 2 bros left for Aus! This means dat from then till the 5th of June, i will be alone wit dad! N since dad has to go for work and consequently comes back late, i can hv a few extremely precious alone times every weekday to do anything i want! Wat's a boy to do with so much freedom? Unsurprisingly, when i posed this question to my good friend who will not be named, the first thing he said was "watch porn lah" [sic] (-_-")... Obviously this is out of the question when it comes to me. Besides, my Internet connection is far too slow to make that an enjoyable experience. I noe this because it takes ages just to load you-tube or crunchyroll videos...sigh..

Anyway, i was channel surfing the minute i got home on friday afternnoon while surfing the net. Den the ad for Alice Academy came up i tot to myself "WTF is dat?" So i crunchyrolled it. I noe it's supposed to a shōjo anime or wat not but dam i find it really funny. D way Mikan (over)react is so dam cute. So now i'm trying to watch the Alice Academy and Blood+ but my fucking Internet connection is making it so frustating!!! Maxis BROADBAND my ass!! My grandfather can write out the binary codes for the episode faster than this sucky thing loads!! Maxis Broadband sux balls!! It even blocks limewire! Gah!! So please, if you hv any way to remedy this situation, kindly do so before my bros gets back n i hv to wrestle them for control of the com.

Originally i tot being wit dad on the weekends would be a quiet afair since he's kinda like the quiet type. A likely scenario would've been sumtin like:

Morning
Dad: What's your plan for today?
Me: Nothing.
Dad: OK.
Both: ....

Noon
Dad: You hungry?
Me (while eating tidbits): Yes.
Dad: OK.
Both eats.

Night
Dad: You hungry?
Me (again while eating): Yes.
Dad: OK
Both eats.

Midnight
Dad: It's time for you to go to sleep.
Me: Nani? But..but..Alice Academy!!
Dad: NOW!
Me: (T_T) x 1000

Process continues for the remainder of d 2 weeks. Fortunately this didn't happen this week...At least not yet.

At least he took me to the Popular Bookfest today and 2morro to church and Kuen Cheng. Wonder wat'll he do next weekend?? Glee, glee!!

Webcomics

As most of probably know, I like to waste lots of time reading webcomics nowadays.

(Mr.Sean if your reading this, I would like to point out that i don't always play CS during your lesson. I also read webcomics, do other subject's assignment, etc. If you're looking for the gamers then you should ask Jit Hua since he's the one who usually distributes the games)

For those who are remotely interested in joining me then here a short review of what I've been reading thus far.

First up is Lackadaisy by Tracy J. Butler. I first saw this on the daily deviation on deviantART and the art style just blew me away. The strips are done in sepia-tone in order to recreate that '20s era nostalgic feel. The story line is not bad either. It's quite funny with a bit of action. It's set in the prohibition era where a café owner is operating an illegal speakeasy, the character of the characters (all anthropomorphic cats) are extremely varied (Mordecai reminds me of Qayyuum). My only problem wit this webcomic is that it's a bit too short. There are only ~53 graphically stunning pages. Took me bout a day to finish. Highly recommended.

Next we have Questionable Content by Jeph Jacques. The Daryl most of you would probably remember from SSG would never have read this kinda comic. This webcomic is filled with sexual innuendos and has tons of references to obscure bands. So why do i read it? Cos it's the most interesting webcomic with enough content to last me more than a week. Most webcomics with great art usually don't have many pages. This one has 1147 pages. Should last me awhile. I'm up to 1000 sumtin then i had to start pacing myself. Also, it makes fun of indies, goths, emos, nerds and lots more...how can anyone not enjoy laughing at emos (especially emos like Joshua)? It's art is actually not bad. It's one of the better ones as far as webcomics go. As the webcomic is 1147 pages long(and counting), summarising the plot would be impossible. Even wikipedia doesn't do that. So you'll just have to find out yourself. Overall, it's a good read. Recommended unless you wanna keep your eyes as virgin as Luther's.

I highly recommend reading Concerned to anyone who has played Half-Life 2, Especially you SP. It's by this dude called Christopher C. Livingston (I think he's got sumtin to do wit Valve). There was an easter egg in Episode 1 that made reference to this comic; so if it's good enough for Valve to notice, it should be funny enough for you. The humour here is completely opposite to Portal's dead-pan humour. It humour is mostly derived from the main character, Gordon Frohman, who is sooo dumb, he's completely ignorant of the fact that he's living in a dystopia and that ppl around him are living in constant fear. He supports and even helps in the oppression of the human race! There's a lot of in-game parodies too. It makes fun of CS, CZ, Lost Coast, and explains some discrepancies in the game like, why are there so many explosive barrels scattered throughout landscape in wat is supposed to be a depressing and dark future for mankind. A must read but only if you've played the game, otherwise you won't get most of the parodies.

There are still a dozen more webcomics i'm willing to write about but since the more time i spend blogging, the less time i have to actually read the webcmoics, i'll just put a list and make a abrupt end here.

http://www.reallifecomics.com (not recommended unless ur a nerd)
http://drmcninja.com (only recommended if you have a thing for ninjas and doctors)
http://www.shadowgirlscomic.com/ (another one old me wouldn't have read. Wat wit female comic characters and tight clothings? I like the chibi arts tho)

That's it for now.... see you all in approx 2 months time... i hope.

Wizard of Aus

If you're expecting to see many cool pics of my trip to Aus then boy, ur gonna be disappointed.

Anyway, here goes...

Departure date: 6th March. Woke up early cos of my Intro to Comp final exam. Every1 was like super stressed by the exam, my buds n i had one of those pre-exam cramming sessions. Then, we entered "The Room" ... 2 hrs l8tr, it was all over. My first semester was all over..and as usual, there was all the post-exam worries but i felt pretty confident. In fact, i was smirking all the way back home on the train, much to the annoyance of the KTM gang of course.

Unlike many ppl, who waste an 8 hr flight by sleeping, i chose to waste that time by watching movies. I watched Bicentennial Man, Bee Movie and Juno. I found the latter film to be highly enjoyable. Ellen Page was really amazing in this movie. In my opinion, her acting was friggin' sweet and pretty solid..to put it in their colourful language.

The 1st thing to catch my eye upon arrival was their sweet HDTV set. A HDTV hooked up to a Xbox 360, a Mac Mini with internet connection, a Wii and a surround sound audio system. In layman's terms, it rocks out loud! In surround sound of course. The downside of this is dat u gotta hv a minimum IQ of 80 just to figure out how to work the remote. Spent the rest of the day in front of the idiot box. At the end of the day, i realised i hadn't slept for the past 39 hrs...but with so much to do, who's got time to sleep?

I pity ppl back home who think J.Co is the lightest, sweetest, best doughnut there is. Pah! Krispy Kreme make J.Co taste like Dunkin' Doughnuts. KK is like super light, any lighter and it'd be classified as cotton candy.

Besides hving a blast, one of my main reason for coming to Aus was to check out my potential future uni, the University of Technology, Sydney. This was the uni my uncle went to and he's doing quite well now, he got a Porsche 911 to prove it. Hopefully going there will allow me to own a Porsche as well.

Naturally, i had imagined a tech uni to look sci-fi, cool , state-of-the-art and all that and driving past other uni's like UNSW really built up my expectations...till i saw the UTS building...the student uni guide/mag's advice wasn't particularly helpful (pic on the left). Grandad described the UTS building as "the ugliest building in the city". My apologies to current UTS ppl but seriously don't u hv architecture students or sumtin? Fortunately, i found out that that wasn't my campus...phew. My campus was way cooler and was what i expected. It's even got a cool sounding name... the Fairfax Building..ok maybe not that cool but it certainly beats saying UTS building 10. Unfortunately i dun hv a pic so just wiki it.

Besides that, ntg much happened. Most days we went shopping. My Dad and I ended up buying a ton of chocs for friends and colleagues. I wonder if my dad's colleagues hounded him for chocs like some of my friends did. We bought like 3 suitcases full of just chocs. However, there was one day where my dad and i went on a book binge. It's like a shopping binge except u visit bookshops instead of boutiques..this may sound alien to some of u but to me and dad, it's prime bonding time. Did u noe dat in Syd, they've got a huge 3-storey bookshop. This is how i noe Syd is my kind of city.

On my 8hr flight back i watched Frequency, an episode of Ugly Betty (sux), 2 episodes of House (sarcasm is funny) and Juno again. I really recommend watchin this movie more than once. The first time i watched it i had a little trouble understanding their colloquialisms.

Ps: did i mention dat i had 8 boxes of Tic Tac? add that to the 4 i had yesterday would make 12 boxes in 5 days.

Well, dat's all for now. Enjoy it. You'll prob be seeing this repeatedly for the next few weeks.

Orientation nite

Really, really sorry for the ubër late post. Reality has been really busy.

25 Jan 2008, TCPJ FYE Orientation Night.

This event is definitely worth blogging about...unfortunately since i don't hv d time 2 do so, i recommend reading Jaclyn's, Kuan Yew's and/or Taylor's FYE's accounts to get an idea of what happened...(Jaclyn's one is the most detailed, TFYE only blogs up till the end of the treasure hunt game)

My comments/thoughts/rants on this event are:

1. Staying true to Malaysian tradition, the event started about an hr after the "official" starting time.
2. I did not get my face painted. Why would i waste RM5 painting my face?
3. This is probably the closest to a concert i hv ever been...lame.
4. I willingly volunteered for the games as opposed to being dragged out like many of my classmates. (except for the pole dancing game..duh! I'd nvr enter such a game.)
5. Yes, i did take part in the newspaper game but fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on who u ask), my partner wasn't a girl...there were only 2 teams with same gender members...Ashraf n i was 1 of them...stop laughing! At least we came in at a respectable 3rd.
6. I was the last FIC student to leave..at around 11pm.

26 Jan 2008, Pavilion outing.

Lemme summarise wat happened…
At around 1pm, we met. Then we talked, walk around and talk summore 4 d next hr. Eventually, we head to d food court…fortunately, I had just taken my breakfast b4 I came…no need for me 2 waste $ on the overpriced garbage they serve there. After that we went to the cinema…and argued over wat movie to watch 4 d next half-hr.. (-_-“) Finally decided on Mad Money (i voted 4 Sweeney Todd)..ok movie lah..

The only thing worth elaborating is J.Co. Josh and i decided to leave d others (who were just standing around, talking...again) and try d J.Co donuts..i find the Al Capone quite nice, tho the others were a bit to sweet...didn't stop us from eating it tho! In conclusion, J.Co made me miss Krispy Kreme even more.

Went home at around 6-ish, straight away study for Comp test.

7 Feb 2008, CNY.

The very reason for my 2 months overdue posts...CNY! This yr's CNY wasn't as bad as 06'. This yr's CNY prep was just simple house-scrubbing...as usual, the whole family will be busy scrubbing, cleaning, wiping, polishing, vacuuming, and/or washing the whole hse. This yr, i got of quite lightly...all i did was clean the comp area and hand-scrubbed the porch wit my bros...dat is all..

Finally! I'm done wit this super-late post...now pls excuse me, i've gotta update my facebook and flickr.

Grey

If my mood now was a colour, it would be grey (gray to you Americans). The flattest, most monotonous, solemnest, bleakest, emotionless, dullest, lackluster, tenebrous, unilluminated grey. Not to be confused with depression.

I don't know what brought about this state of mind...just felt this way. At breakfast, i seem to have lost my appetite, then for the rest of the day, i just felt really..lethargic-ish..at least college cheered me up a bit..but as soon as i got home, i felt grey again. In times like these, i feel like being alone, to be completely isolated and have time to just read a dystopian fiction or a satirical novel in peace..instead i wasted 10 mins of my time just blogging about it. Life seems quite tiresome at times.

Classmates

Can't believe it...i forgot to write about my classmates! Better late than never, i guess...

My class isn't that big actually, only about 15 ppl. However, we get like a new student every day and we'll probably get a few more in March and June due to the month's intake. So far, our class consist of:-

Lee Khuan Yew (no relations to Singapore's ex-president / owns a Ben Q laptop),
Lim Aik Chuan,
Nurul Ashraf (pc modding aficionado / owns a Toshiba laptop),
Zeann,
Jon (who shares the same birthday as me, albeit in 1990),
Dickson Lim (who bears a resemblance to Alex of 4Sc3 / owns a N93i and tablet pc),
Tai Li Ter (really quiet guy),
Dennis (from Korea and kinda like Luther in some ways, except for the accent / owns a Samsung laptop) ,
Ahmed (from Africa / tallest and oldest guy in class, age 22),
Mohamad (who hails from Yemen / owns a Toshiba laptop) ,
Jaclyn (who kindly showed me the ways of the Malaysian public rail system),
Angel (1 of the 2 girls in class / works part-time as a Starbucks barista / owns a Toshiba laptop),
Daryl (youngest in class / age 17 / possibly the only one without a laptop / active game peddler with partner-in-crime, Jit Hua) ,
Jit Hua (Daryl's partner-in-crime / active game peddler),

There's a few others whom i didn't mention...this is probably because they're not on the blackboard 6, FIC namelist.

just another post...

Stupid title...getting blogger's block.

So today I'm enjoying the first holiday of the college year. So boring.Wish i could spend it with Rita...haizz.. At least i got to chat with her, unfortunately my messenger is all screwy and disconnects sporadically, so damn annoying! Screw you Murphy's Law!!

Anyway, dunno wat else to blog about...writer's/blogger's block....guess i'll just end now and devote my remaining on9 time to RITA!!

The 4th of Jan

Today's Henry's (my bro) b'day. As usual, i got him what i've always got him every year...nothing. Don't start thinking that i'm a bad brother...well maybe i am but hey! I bet most of you out there probably don't give your siblings presents on their b'days too right? Anyway i'm close enough to my brothers so that even if i don't get them anything, my relationship with them is not affected at all.

So for my bro's dinner, we went to a Japanese restaurant behind Ampang Point. It's called Tuna House. Because it's run by some Koreans, the food was a fusion of both Korean and Japanese cuisine. The choices was limited though so i just ordered a Soba set as did Geoffrey (my youngest bro) cos i'm not really a sushi fan. Henry and my dad love sushi though, so they ordered a sashimi set. I tried some kimchi but i didn't like it. Wonder why the koreans love this stuff, tastes dead yucky to me...guess it's a cultivated taste.

1st day of College

Today i took a bold step into a new chapter of my life story, today was my first day in Taylor's College! Unfortunately, i got lost.

As usual, i made an effort to arrive early so i arrived at the campus at around 7.15am, only to find out that i was too early and had to wait till 9am. So i had to wander around aimlessly trying to kill time. Luckily i met Sarah and her mom who managed to make the wait less boring. Then we met up with Jit Hua (he's also taking the same course as me) and finally Peh Xin Yi. Then at 9, we were all herded to the Multi-Purpose Hall to listen to the welcome speech and other talks...boooring!!! The talks lasted till around 12-ish. Lunch was quite a different experience from SSG's. In SSG, i would usually take a look at the food lose my appetite. It's expensive and tastes like cold, disgusting, leftovers...because it is cold, disgusting, leftovers!! In Taylor's I was suddenly thrust into an environment where i had soooo many choices...so wat did i order you ask? A burger.

New resolution: To try every stall by the time i leave.

The fun really started after lunch, we had this team building activity. Had quite a lot of fun till i remembered that i wasn't in some holiday camp but in college. 1st we played a game where we had to line up according to our birthdates but we weren't allowed to speak to each other.

Next we were separated into groups (our group was named No Name, courtesy of Sarah) and had to grab these coloured balls from a middle ring and put them into our team's ring. We also have to steal balls from other teams to get as many balls as possible. Obviously with a game as competitive as this, someone's bound to get hurt in the mayhem. Unluckily for Sarah, she was the only one who suffered any injury in the form of a broken fingernail.

Then we were given kindergarten-level ABC jigsaw puzzles which we had to assemble without speaking to each other. Not much of a challenge for a group college students right? Wrong! The pieces were all mixed up with other groups' pieces so we had to run around trying to ask around for the right pieces without speaking.

Last but not least, we played a game called Trust. 3 small groups had to combine into 1 big group and each member had to be carried through a hula hoop suspended a good 5 feet from the ground. Obviously i was one of the first to be carried through. Fortunately, most of the heavy ones were on the other team. Still, most of the time our hula hoop broke whenever we get someone through.

Today was really fun, just wish college will be this fun everyday.

2008

Happy New Year Everybody!!

This year will be a special year cos it's my college year!

So for this year my resolutions are:
1) Maintain my relationship with Rita.
2) Stay in touch with my friends/ex-schoolmates
3) Try to improve my Chinese speaking abilities (or lack thereof).
4) Try to keep my blog alive by updating it at least once a week.
5) Gain weight. (impossible! but i must try!)

5Sc3 Reunion

27th Dec 2007

Sry. Again I'm late. Anyway, on the 27th Dec 2007 some students of 5Sc3 has a reunion of sorts at Jogoya, Starhill Gallery.

I came at around 12pm, and finally met up with the others at around 1.30pm at J.Co. Josh, Syamim, Cho Sek, Tony, and Guo Hao was there. So was Piao Sheng but as usual, he was bullied into queing up to get the donuts for the rest of us. Finally got a chance to try a small piece. Nothing great but i wouldn't mind trying it again.

Loitered around then finally had our lunch at 3pm.

Jogoya was quite okay though I've tasted better food (Saisaki is much better!!). They had this ordering system where you have to place tags (given to you at your table) at ordering bowls. Tony took everyone's tags and ordered lots of teppenyaki chicken, some soup thingy and soft-shelled crab. As a result of Tony's reckless ordering of dishes, there was an obscene amount of leftovers.

After lunch, we spent another 1hr+ just taking pics. Haha. Poor waiter. The trouble he had to go through just to entertain a group of toubling teens.

Finally left Jogoya at 5pm. Total time spent in Jogoya=3hrs.

Last activity b4 I went home was watchin AVP2. I wouldn't recommend this flick.
Liang Sheng kept laughing. He loled during the scene where two loser's head's got blown off. What a sick sense of humour he's got.
